Attend our classes from work or home

Traveling out of the office is often a big issue, and we have responded. You can attend our classes from the comfort of your own environment. You will interact with the instructor and other students who are attending in person, and follow along with the instructor, just as if you were sitting in the classroom.

We have hosted classes this way with attendees from all over the world. Before you visit Travelocity or Expedia, think twice. Do you really need to be in the classroom?

How does it work?

It's simple, actually. For audio, we use POTS (Plain Old Telephone Service). Conference calling is the most reliable way for people all over the world to talk to each other as a group. In a classroom environment, most of what you do is listen to the teacher. Students interact with the instructor one at a time, just as you would do in class. We provide a toll-free number to call. if you are outside the US there is a local number. If you have a group of programmers, use a speaker phone in a meeting room.

As for video, use UltraVNC on a machine to get a full screen real-time image of the instructors screen. This works like Terminal Services or XP Remote Desktop, except that multiple clients can connect to the same machine. Dedicate a machine to show the instructors screen. If you have a group of developers, attach this PCs SVGA video output to a projector in the meeting room.

How do I sign up?

All of our classes can be attended remotely. When signing up for a class, check off the option I wish to attend this class remotely and we will send you complete instructions, as well as a CD and syllabus. We have a great support department who will attend to your needs should you require assistance in connecting with Ultr@VNC.
